Let's Talk About Thinning Hair

Hair loss or thinning hair can be caused by numerous factors. Common ones are ageing, stress, internal imbalances in iron levels, thyroid, and hormones. Genetics do play a part but you don't need to resign yourself to going bald just because your mom or dad did, that's not how androgenetic alopecia (aka male pattern baldness) works anyways. Thinning hair can affect a range of ages and any gender. Read below for more information on causes and the solution we now have to both prevent hair loss and get your hair to grow back.

Causes of Hair Loss

As we age increased levels of Dihydrotestoterone (DHT) can effectively put the hair follicles into a telogen, “sleeping” phase. If hair remains in a telogen phase long enough the follicle cannot be reactivated and balding occurs.

Additionally, thinning hair may be caused by a scalp damaged by a dry or extreme climate, nutrition, stress, certain drugs, chlorine, and/or environmental exposure. Over many years, the skin of the scalp produces less growth factors and becomes less efficient at repairing damage. Because of this, the condition of the scalp can eventually deteriorate to the point where it hardens (fibrosis) or hair follicles become miniaturized. In the case of fibrosis, hair is unable to grow through the hardened scalp. Miniaturization renders the hair follicles unable to perform their normal growth cycle. Both conditions can lead to a cessation of hair production and the death of hair follicles.

The first step when you notice thinning hair is to talk to your doctor and get bloodwork done. We want to rule out internal imbalances that can be treated and the hair will regrow in time on it's own. This includes but isn't limited to iron, thyroid, and both male and female hormone issues. Yes this includes post-partum hair loss.

Our hair restoration service can speed the regrowth up but we first want to make sure that the internal imbalance is resolved so we aren't fighting against that.

Frequently Asked Questions

How will I know if this method will work for my thinning hair?

During your initial consultation, we will go over the root cause(s) of your hair loss and assess your scalp. Both of those help to determine if you're a candidate for hair restoration.

How often do I need to come for treatments?

Your initial treatment sessions (typically 5-7) need to each be 2 weeks apart. After we're happy with the amount of growth achieved, a maintenance session will be necessary every 3-6 months.

Why does the intro package only include 2 treatments?

Results are generally seen after 2 treatments. This intro package allows us to ensure that results are happening according to plan before proceeding.

Why do you use lab created growth factors and not my own like with PRP?

The lab created ones are based on stem cells derived from a healthy female athlete in her 20s. Using your own growth factors that are ageing simply wouldn't give us the same results.

How It Works

Procell hair growth treatments are formulated to nourish hair follicles back to a state of ideal health, using select growth factor proteins that are naturally present in healthy, young hair follicles. Our process allows for a normal hair growth
cycle that leads to new hair growth and thicker,  fuller-looking hair.

Stem cells lining the hair follicles are crucial  for production of hair, and the Growth Factor technology ingredients in our concentrated serum are selected to provide support to these stem cells so hair can regrow.

Multiple peer-reviewed studies have determined that lab-cultured growth factors & cytokines derived from adult human bone marrow stem cells are both strongly anti-inflammatory and anti-aging.

Procell serums contain these growth factors which produce a powerful hair growth cycle. rejuvating damaged hair follicles and increasing circulation of nutrients for healthy hair.

When delivered using microchanneling technology, the scalp experiences increased circulation and blood flow to feed our follicles essential nutrients to promote increased hair growth.

Schedule & Maintenance

We start with an initial consultation to determine if this method can help with your hair loss challenges. There is no charge for the consultation and absolutely no obligation to proceed with treatments. Come prepared to discuss some of the medical contributors listed above with your dedicated hair restoration specialist one-on-one in our private client space. All information shared will be kept in the strictest confidence.

Once treatments begin, you need to be available to come in every 2 weeks for an average of 5-7 sessions (10-14 weeks). Each treatment takes 30-60 minutes depending on the area being treated. With microchanneling there is no "downtime". Photos will be taken every 30 days to assist with assessing progress and targeting treatment areas.

At home care involves not wearing hats, no vigorous towel drying, avoiding sun for 48 hours post treatment, using the take home growth factor serum daily, and the provided DHT blocking shampoo and recovery conditioner. Completely achievable!

Maintenance treatments will be required every 3-6 months depending on your unique hair growth and scalp health.
