When I was little,...
I had the most beautiful ringlet curls—until the day I decided to climb a filing cabinet to grab a pair of scissors and give myself my very first haircut. My curls did not survive that creative experiment. From then on, my hair grew in fine and mostly straight. Then puberty hit—boom—and suddenly, I was dealing with what every hairstylist (until I went to hair school myself) called frizz.
I was told my hair would behave if I just used more straightening cream, a little extra oil, a hotter flat iron, or the latest “miracle” spray or “magic” balm. Nothing worked. It wasn’t until university that I started to really understand my hair type and texture. It wasn’t ringlets anymore, but it wasn’t straight either—it lived somewhere in between. With time, I learned what my hair actually needed and how to work with it, not against it, to get the best and most consistent results.

I don’t believe in cookie-cutter styles—every head of hair tells its own story. My goal is always to craft something that feels authentic to you, blending technical precision with creative intuition. When I’m not behind the chair (or spending time with my husband, Jacob), you’ll probably find me tucked away in my art room, happily lost in another one of art projects.
