Meet Shandra

My journey to hair started with my Barbies...
my sisters wouldn’t sit long enough for me to practice my braiding, and they definitely would have complained about any and all haircuts that I practiced!

After completing the Cosmetology Program at Marvel in Kitchener...
I worked at a well-known salon in the city and quickly became recognized for my skills including those with curly hair. I achieved certification in numerous extension systems and perfected my special event and bridal styling techniques. When I joined Curve Hair Studio in 2014, I began the process of healing my own hair from all the heat styling to allow my curls to reach their full potential. My first-hand experience with this process will allow me to help you on your journey to happy healthy hair.

Over the last seven years at Curve Hair Studio...
I’ve achieved all three levels of DevaCurl training to work with all curl types. I am proudly certified through Eyes on Cancer to be able to assist with early detection, styling hair and wigs after diagnosis, and continued care and support throughout and after treatment. I’ve also begun my trichologist training so that I can help diagnose and work with the many causes of scalp and hair loss issues.

I love making new friends...
in a space where you are welcomed, accepted, celebrated and appreciated. We will have a conversation about you; your hair and scalp is a huge part of your story. Pick pictures you love and ones you don’t (sometimes the colour you describe as honey is not the same as I do). Our first focus is always healthy hair; if your hair isn’t healthy, it won’t matter what cut or colour it is. I can offer techniques not only to manage your hair so that your style is effortless, but to move past acceptance right to loving your hair. Let me take you from your Pinterest hair plans to #hairgoals! I feel so blessed to be doing what I love everyday and you are my motivation for this journey.
